Inge told us about this town so when we left this morning, we continued down the rest of the Mosel River to make a brief stop in this town. The original town is 2000 years old and there are still Roman ruins to be seen. There was also a huge gorgeous church that was very very old. We being old ourselves, cannot remember how old, but at least back to the 1200s.

Lisa, Trier was only about 30-40 min south of Bitburg where we were based. It was our "big" town to go to. Patton took his tanks through Trier and there is an arch where you could see the marks the tanks made since they were just a bit too wide for the walls. If I remember correctly, Patton is buried in Luxembourg which was only 20 min away from Bitburg Air Base.
